Hearing the need. Engineering the solution.

Btw, we like nice things

Against the day to day

A small hymn to chance, coffee, and keeping wonder alive between meetings.

Our Slack is called Chums of chances, which feels right for a crew that lives by forecast and hunch. In Against the Day (Thomas Pynchon), the Chums drift above the map, catching whatever wind will have them. Down here, the weather is email, calendar pips, and errands that call themselves urgent. Still—we keep a lookout for thermals: a stray idea in #random, a sketch on a napkin, a question nobody’s asked yet. Chance doesn’t always knock; sometimes it just circles, looking for a field to land. So we keep the field clear: notebooks open, coffee on, time left unclaimed. Most days, that’s enough. The trick is not to control the wind—only to meet it at a good angle.
